Fire safety is on the ballot

When the fire comes, will the water flow?

Why a Bay-O-Vista resident is voting for April

“She is also working now to actually make sure that we are fire safe. She’s having East Bay MUD accountable for checking to make sure we have water in our hydrants.”

My name is Kat Wellman. I actually live in Bay-O-Vista and have been very involved in community activism. And I have to say that April Chan is probably the best elected representative for her constituents that I have ever met. Four years ago, we were facing East Bay MUD, actually wanting to take all of its extracted soil and put it into the quarry site, which is our open hillsides here in San Leandro. It would have ruined our community. It would have ruined two other nearby communities and actually made a devastation of our freeways. And it was April’s very first East Bay MUD meeting where she was there when we protested and she came out to the lobby and she represented us and told us that she was going to fight with us and did it the entire time. She is also working now to actually make sure that we are fire safe. She’s having East Bay MUD accountable for checking to make sure we have water in our hydrants. I urge everybody to vote for April Chan for East Bay MUD. You will not find anybody else that would represent the constituents as well as she does. Thank you.
